Before his conviction, though, he sure was a great guy to have around.
Armed. With anger management issues. And a concealed carry permit.
From the News-Herald (Willoughby, Ohio):
The man who fired nine shots into the air during a skirmish in the parking lot of Queensdale Apartments was sentenced to 60 days in jail Monday.
Mentor Municipal Court Judge John Trebets also sentenced Nathaniel Summers, 25, of Cleveland to anger management counseling and ordered that the guns he fired be destroyed.
Summers will be on probation for one year….
…Summers was dropping off a friend at the apartment complex after work, according to police reports.
Two women were fighting in the parking lot and bumped into Summers’ car, police said.
Summers shouted at the women to not touch his car. When another person confronted Summers for shouting, Summers got two guns from his glove box and repeatedly fired into the air, police said.
Nobody was struck by the bullets.
Summers was arrested a few minutes after he left the parking lot.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated menacing, discharging firearms in the city and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.
The Mentor Prosecutor Lisa Klammer later dismissed the charge of improperly handling firearms.
She said the charge did not apply to Summers’ situation because he had a permit to carry concealed weapons….

That last line is a bit odd.
Shouldn’t it be that because Summers had a concealed carry permit he should have been held to a higher standard? One might think he should have known better.
After all, permit-holders are all just “law-abiding gun owners” ready to “protect us” from crime at a moment’s notice, right?
Maybe there’s an exception for the ones who plead guilty to aggravated menacing.
